R2R Connect ("the app") lets a Shopify merchant ("you") list R2R's product catalogue on your store, keep stock and prices in sync, and have R2R fulfil orders placed for those products. This page explains how billing works, including charges that are processed outside of Shopify's billing system under an approved exemption.
Billing outside the Shopify Billing API
R2R Connect processes certain charges outside of the Shopify Billing API, under a Billing API exemption approved by Shopify. These charges are payment for physical goods and shipping fulfilled by R2R, not an app subscription or usage fee. Because product costs and live shipping rates vary from order to order, they cannot be billed as a fixed Shopify app charge, which is why the exemption applies.
What you are charged for
When one of your customers places an order for an R2R product on your store, the order is forwarded to R2R for fulfilment and you are charged for:
- the wholesale cost of the goods fulfilled, and
- the shipping cost for that order.
You are only charged for goods and shipping on orders that R2R fulfils on your behalf. There is no separate subscription or app fee billed outside Shopify.
How charges are processed
Charges are handled securely through Stripe, our payment processor. We do not receive or store full card numbers, your card details are held by Stripe, and we keep only a reference to your saved payment method.
Setting up your payment method
To use R2R Connect, add your payment method inside the app after installation. Your card is stored securely with Stripe and charged automatically as orders are fulfilled. You can update your payment method at any time from within the app.
